JUNETEENTH: HEALTH & WEALTH AS LIBERATION
Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when enslaved people in Texas finally learned of their freedom—2.5 years after the Emancipation Proclamation. This delayed liberation reminds us that freedom requires both legal rights AND access to information, resources, and opportunity. Our summit honors this legacy by addressing health disparities and economic inequality in our community through education, resources, and celebration.
