Growing Food Justice in West Charlotte
Kika's House Community Garden at 1525 Enderly Road is more than just a garden—it's a movement for food sovereignty, community health, and cultural preservation in West Charlotte.
About Our Garden
Established in March 2025, Kika's House Community Garden is a vibrant hub of food justice in West Charlotte's Freedom Drive corridor. Our garden at 1525 Enderly Road serves as both a source of fresh, nutritious food and a gathering place where community knowledge, cultural traditions, and intergenerational connections flourish. We're dedicated to addressing the root causes of food insecurity in our neighborhood through community leadership, sustainable growing practices, and culturally relevant programming. Through collaborative efforts with residents and partner organizations, we're growing more than just food—we're cultivating health equity, economic resilience, and community power.

Addressing Food Insecurity
Located in a neighborhood where residents must travel 2+ miles to reach QUALITY grocery store, our garden increases access to fresh, nutritious produce for the Freedom Drive corridor community.

Community-Led Initiative
Founded and operated by community members, our garden celebrates cultural food traditions while building skills and knowledge through intergenerational connection.

Improving Health Outcomes
By increasing access to fresh produce, we're working to address the high rates of diabetes (18.2%), hypertension (42%), and obesity (38%) affecting our community.
At Kika’s House, our community garden is more than a patch of land – it’s a living classroom, healing space, and gathering point for West Charlotte. We grow fresh produce, herbs, and flowers while teaching our neighbors how food, wellness, and economic freedom are all connected.
This video gives you a glimpse into the energy, joy, and hard work happening in our garden – from planting days to harvest and community events.

Huge thanks to our partners for helping us bring this vision – and this soil – to life.
